God's wrath was often delivered by Angels. This man was tested on his compassion, morals, knowing the true difference between right and wrong, and if he could turn away from a situation that required sacrifice to save the life of someone he didn't even know. I think he passed the test in every way. He did save her life. He accepted the situation it put him in because he knew the truth about how right and wrong is seen today. She was obviously living in a hell the abuser created for her. I think everyone knows a piece of paper signed by a judge does not stop abusers. And that way too often it only ends with the victim dead. Even then abusers get less prison time than a good man who does the right thing. I believe he did the right thing. Even being behind bars doesn't stop him from smiling when he sees her. She's alive and free because of him. Being the good person he is, that is enough to keep him going every day. Like many have stated it is a question of "What would YOU do?" That is a question that can only be answered when you are in that moment. And it is a sad world when you have to worry about what will happen to you if you do the right thing. Just look at Daniel Penny. He protected a subway car full of people who were facing a mentally ill homeless man with a history of assaulting people. Every person in that car did nothing but thank him and praise his actions. Despite every witness/potential victim saying he did nothing wrong it was Penny who was arrested and charged. You never know when moments like that will happen but you can hope you do the TRULY right thing. Even when most of the world
